Location: London

The Digital Team

The digital team is part of a larger organization (including: 3D/Video, Creative, Account, Editorial, IT team) providing communication/marketing services to the healthcare industry and you will be expected to be able to communicate clearly across teams.
The digital team counts 14 persons and includes backend, front-end and mobile developers as well as Project Managers.
The team operates using daily and weekly sprint meetings to evaluate progress on projects and re-assess resources needs. Most of the team members are based in London, UK and you will be expected to be able to work from the London’s based office using the development environment provided (Visual Studio, TFS and MS SQL).

Job Description

A leader in healthcare communications for the global pharmaceutical industry is looking to appoint an experienced .net developer to expand the existing teams' capabilities and work on a broad range of innovative digital projects. This is a very hands-on technical role for someone who can understand clients' requirements and can ensure the best delivery of class web build projects.

Working closely with the creative, content, and IT teams, you will essentially work on web based applications ensure the integration of newly developed features in our internal products or client aimed projects. The range of web applications you will be working on includes tailored internal e-learning and webcast solutions as well as public facing publishing websites and marketing tools across global organizations. You will be working on the backend development of new features according to requirement documents and specifications, whilst the front end team will ensure cross browser compatibilities and styling implementation. The role also offers opportunities to work on desktop or mobile applications, across a large range of technologies.

You have to passionate about all things digital and your curiosity for breaking new ground will make you a leader rather than a follower. You will have demonstrable knowledge of worldwide digital distribution and understand their challenges.

Projects Overview

  • Average projects length: 2 months to 18 months.
  • Technical description: .net 4(+), webforms and MVC with SQL Server (and Business Layer) based on bespoke CMS or Umbraco.
  • Project management: The project manager establishes goals and timelines using SCRUM methodology (waterfall for smaller scale projects) for a team of dedicated developers (2 to 5 persons, depending on projects) under the supervision of the Programs Manager.
  • Line Manager: Development Director, based in London.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate new functionalities to bespoke .net CMS products
  • Develop key features on client specific .net projects
  • Program customizations into established CMSs (i.e. Umbraco)
  • Attend daily meeting to update the rest of the team on the progress made on ongoing projects
  • Ensure unit testing is carried through
  • Use and Update TFS for the rest of team
  • Provide maintenance and support on live projects

Desired Skills and Experience

Must haves

  • Minimum 5 years' .net development experience within an agency/team environment
  • Minimum 5 years' MS SQL experience (stored procedure, triggers, indexing..)
  • Minimum 2 years' TFS/Visual Studio
  • Solid understanding of information design and architecture
  • Experience in interacting with internal teams of designers, developers, and motion graphics resources

Editorial Assistant

Location: London

Responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing reference packs for regulatory submission and conducting accuracy/data checks
  • Proof-reading and basic copy editing (checking for accuracy, consistency and style) as required, with a working knowledge of proof-reading marks and familiarity with house style guide
  • Researching background information for new and ongoing projects and potential new accounts, including therapy area literature searches and use of medical databases (e.g. PubMed)

Requirements

Experience/skills required:

  • Strong language skills with some writing and editing experience
  • A life science degree

Editor

Location: London

Responsibilities will include:

  • Having good knowledge of one therapeutic area and applying this knowledge. Acquiring new knowledge according to project demands with some supervision
  • Having the ability to integrate, interpret, and summarize scientific data from a variety of sources, with guidance
  • Learning to adapt editing for different audiences, through mentoring from senior team members. Working adeptly on at least one type of Editorial project
  • With guidance, demonstrating the ability to write and/or edit content to produce material that is clear, concise, accurate, and with a tone as required for a given project
  • Applying solid grammatical knowledge and any established house style to work
  • Fact-checking and marking up references accurately, with some checking required by senior team members
  • Having confidence in approaching and solving problems, with guidance from a senior colleagues

  • Good editorial and oral communication skills
  • A minimum of 2 years’ experience in medical publishing/agency setting

Digital Project Manager

Location: London

Job Description

This is both a client-facing role, helping to develop digital initiatives for our clients, as well as a hands-on role overseeing the delivery of the best in class web build projects, e-learning and webcast solutions.


You will be an experienced digital guru who lives and breathes digital. You’re a team player, with excellent interpersonal skills who thrives under pressure. You’ll have experience dealing with clients, managing expectations and being the go-to person for all things digital. Your curiosity for breaking new ground will make you a leader rather than a follower. You will have demonstrable knowledge of digital media as well as a technical understanding of online systems and their uses, design and development methods and how these can be employed to meet business needs.

Responsibilities

  • Provide input at early project stages (pitch), effectively communicating technical, creative, and production issues and solutions both internally and to the client
  • Liaise with the client and account teams to ensure that any changing client needs are scoped into the project and if appropriate, new costs or timeframes are negotiated
  • Oversee the daily development, track project plans and ensure timeline and client expectations are met
  • Your technical understanding will enable you to advise on innovate ideas to design and distribute digital solution
  • Be responsible for quality control (QA), design and run TestPlans

Desired Skills and Experience

This is a hands-on role for digital project managers with technical background and the candidate's communication skills will be key of the success of the projects.


Essential experience in project management of digital projects:

  • At least two years’ experience (or equivalent) in project management, preferably in an agency environment
  • Serious interest in cutting-edge technologies/products
  • Ability to document requirements
  • Experience in managing internal teams of designers, developers and editorial staff
  • Solid understanding of user experience, information architecture and interface design

The successful candidate will come from a technology or digital media background with a solid understanding of the following:

  • Mobile applications, native (iOS and Android), HTML5 and Hybrid
  • Web applications including Content Management Systems
  • Web services (REST, JSON etc)
  • Front-end web technologies (HTML/JS and their respective frameworks)
  • Testing of applications
